Rocks Digital 2015 was held June 29-30 in Dallas, Texas. This year’s digital marketing conference brought two days education, information and resources to business owners, digital marketing agencies and enterprise level service providers. The Rocks Digital conference is the brain child of two amazing women in local: Lissa Duty, Social Media Authority and Bernadette Coleman, CEO of Advice Interactive. Rocks Digital was created from the merging of two national events — the Local Social founded in 2013, organized by Bernadette and the DFW Rocks Social Media Conference founded in 2012, organized by Lissa.

Loren Baker, founder of Search Engine Journal (SEJ) and CEO of Foundation Digital Consulting, kicked off the conference with a discussion about the power and importance of content marketing. “It’s the glue that holds everything together.” Loren focused on strategies for making sure content works beyond SEO, as content is about every part of the marketing funnel and can be a challenge to juggle.

BIA/Kelsey sponsored a Women Leading In Local break out session during the afternoon of the conference, which was moderated by Celine Matthiessen, BIA/Kelsey’s Vice President of Analytics and Insights. The panel included:

During the session, the women discussed topics including the challenges of being a professional women in technology, and key ways to communicate. The breakout session was finished with a Q&A with the audience.
