Leading Local Insights: New Podcast from BIA
BIA Advisory Services enters the world of podcasting this week with the introduction of Leading Local Insights, centering on BIA’s current thinking and analysis of the local media marketplace. Each episode will feature a member from our analyst team delivering business insights for broadcast and digital media business professionals.
Our goal is to be on-point and relevant and to stand out from other podcasts. We want this new content stream to be additive and meaningful to our audience.
That said, we see our podcast as another way we can bring our thinking to you directly. It’s an excellent way to promptly cover the changes, challenges, and opportunities within and around the local media marketplace, especially as the country begins to level set to the next phase of the pandemic.

Look for a new podcast every Tuesday. Our discussions will cover a wide range of topics, including our current forecast analysis of the ad marketplace, growth/declines across different ad platforms, and trends in nationwide and local advertising across different business verticals.
Additionally, we’re going to dive into emerging areas of importance to the media industry: Over-the-Top (OTT), esports/gaming, financial valuation assessments, digital trends, and strategic selling strategies for broadcast media.

Our first episode kicks off with our managing director, Rick Ducey, where he discusses ad-supported OTT (or Over the Top TV) that offers long-form premium video content streamed to TV sets and other devices over the Internet. He offers BIA’s ad forecast for OTT and looks at some consumer and industry trends. Finally, Rick considers how OTT and ATSC 3.0 might work together in the future.
