Online and Brick & Mortar Retail Spending $30.16 Billion in Local Ads in 2018

BIA forecasts that the spend on retail will increase to $32.93 billion by 2022. With the increase in mobile usage throughout this forecasted period, mobile advertising is going from 7.9% of the total retail spends in local to 12.7% in 2022. Amazon and the rise of online shopping has seen a growth not only in spend but how retailers maintain physical and digital brands in local. A recent infographic from Redbrain looks at the history of some of the top brick and mortar retailers and their online vs. offline footprint.  Combining online and in-store retail brings the best returns. Online shopping is on the rise but mobile devices change the paradigm somewhat by making the best of both worlds accessible.
