Video ad provider AdVideo announced today it will work with Yellow Pages Group Canada to help the publisher deliver online video to its SMB advertisers. YP publishers continue their push to integrate video into the local ad bundle, for many of the reasons we detailed in our local video ad forecast (U.S. and Canada versions).

At SES San Jose last week, I had the chance to chat briefly with newly appointed YPG CMO Stephane Marceau, who agreed this will continue to be a strong push for YPG and for the industry. He shared the sentiments previously expressed by his predecessor and industry veteran Jean-Pascal Lion, in the aforementioned report.

Others that have brought SMB video to the Canada market include Canpages and Weblocal.ca. The AdVideo deal is the latest for YPG and the latest for the Yellow Pages industry. AdVideo will be in attendance at BIA/Kelsey’s upcoming Directional Media Strategies conference, where we hope to learn more about its strategy.
