Seattle-based Marchex today announced the launch of, which will implement the company’s existing 75,000-plus ZIP code Web sites. Marchex will position as a destination for local directional content and information and as the umbrella brand around its individual ZIP code sites, which cover 97 percent of the U.S.

The new site will utilize Marchex's OpenList search technology and user-generated content platform. OpenList focuses a great deal on the travel vertical and related listings such as restaurants and hotels, but more verticals are planned in the coming months. Bringing together its individual Web sites and OpenList in an integrated Web site with a single brand should allow Marchex to drive more traffic and more effectively monetize it.
